Peppermint Rose Mocha
Valentine’s Day is all about pairing up, right? Well, few things match up better than mint and mocha. Experimenting with Smart Owl Mocha Rose Infused Honey (still in trial phases) has quickly become my favorite way to pass these cold winter days.
Here’s our fun spin on this classic.
Process:
To your mug add the following:
- 1/4 cup heavy cream
- 1/4 oz vanilla honey simple syrup (or plain honey)
- Froth until doubled in volume
In a separate cup add:
- 1/4 tsp peppermint extract
- 1 oz Smart Owl Mocha Rose Honey
- 6-8 oz Hot Brewed Smart Owl Coffee (I used Balance Blend)
- Stir, stir, stir
Combine and Enjoy! Top with dark chocolate shaving and a few hunks of marshmallow (these handmade mallows are from the Salted Lemon Market)
Here’s how I make the vanilla honey simple syrup: Combine one cup of raw honey, 3/4 cup of warm water, a dash of vanilla extract, a dash of almond extract and stir until uniform. This retains all of the benefits of the raw honey and allows it to remain shelf stable. You can refrigerate for peace of mind.
